THE MONTEVERDI VESPERS OF 1610

With period instruments

Soloists to include

Faye Newton and Philippa Hyde - Sopranos
Richard Roddis and Glyn Aubrey - Tenors

Forty years ago the Derwent Singers and the Sitwell Singers performed the Monteverdi Vespers in Derby Cathedral. It was, according to Press reviews, a hugely successful venture. We are delighted that we are once again coming together for a  very special Anniversary performance of this magnificent work – one of the most  sumptuous and monumental compositions of the Baroque – which reflects the musical splendours of Venice during this period.
